The U.S. Navy is hosting public information sessions on February 24th and 25th, 2015 at the Horsham Township Community Center to share information with the public on current and future actions taken in response to the identification of perfluorinated compounds (PFCs) in drinking water. PFCs have been found at public and private drinking water wells near the Former Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base (NASJRB) Willow Grove, Pennsylvania and former Naval Air Warfare Center (NAWC), Warminster, PA. Navy Representatives will be joined by representatives from the Unites States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 3, the Air Force, Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, Montgomery and Bucks County Health Departments, and local water authorities. These agencies are working together to address the issue.
The session will be an Open House format with multiple information displays manned by the various agency representatives, who will be available to talk one-on-one with residents and answer questions about PFOA and PFOS. Residents are encouraged to attend either session; the presented information is the same at both sessions. Click here for more information
