PUBLIC NOTICE - Open-House Public Information Session. May 24th and 25th, 2016
The Naval Facilities Engineering Command Base Realignment and Closure Program Management Office (NAVFAC BRAC PMO) and the Air National Guard (ANG) are hosting open house public information sessions on May 24th and 25th, 2016 at the Horsham Township Community Center regarding current and future actions taken in response to the perfluorinated compounds (PFCs) found in drinking water. Specific PFCs known as perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS) and perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) have been found at public and private drinking water wells near the Former Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base (NASJRB) Willow Grove, former Naval Air Warfare Center (NAWC) Warminster, and Horsham Air Guard Station (HAGS), Pennsylvania. Attending these public information sessions will be representatives from the U.S. Navy, Air National Guard, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 3, Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR), Pennsylvania Dept. of Environmental Protection, Montgomery and Bucks County Health Departments, and local water authorities.
