Township Manager William Walker is proud to announce that Horsham, Pennsylvania, has been selected by CNN Money Magazine as the 34th Best Places to Live in America for 2013. Horsham Township is one of only two municipalities out of 2,563 in Pennsylvania that was selected and one of only 50 communities nationwide. In 2007 and 2011 CNN Money Magazine selected Horsham as a top-ranked Best Place to Live in America and in 2009 U.S. News and World Report Magazine selected Horsham as being one of the best places to live in Pennsylvania. Walker states, “I think a part of what makes Horsham such a great place to live is its diverse housing community and vibrant economy. There are a lot of different types of jobs available in Horsham, and that’s just going to draw more people to the Township.”
The selection is based on a series of indicators that include population, income, job growth, crime, housing price, school quality, health care and more.
Mark McCouch, Horsham Council President, states, “We are thrilled to be ranked as one of the best places to live in America. We appreciate this new top ranking and the positive exposure that comes with a ranking like this. It is really a community effort in making our Township what it is. We have great residents, an excellent school district and an active business community which amplifies our quality of life. We are proud to offer the services that we do to the residents and at the same time maintain our low tax rate.”
Councilman William Whiteside states “Being a top-ranked community in the country, and one of only two in the State, helps to validate all the great things we are doing as a community. With the Township’s focus on redeveloping the former Willow Grove NAS-JRB and creating more jobs, housing opportunities and a vibrant town center, Horsham’s best days are yet to come”.
