The Fire Marshals office is responsible for the investigation of the cause and origin of all fires which occur in Horsham Township. The Fire Marshal is responsible for the inspection for the effectiveness of fire protection equipment and compliance with fire prevention regulations in commercial and industrial buildings, places of assembly, schools, institutions and multiple family dwellings. The Fire Marshal also is involved in administering the Fire Codes adopted by the Township.
Fire Marshals Office Is Responsible For:
- Review and approve fire protection plans
- Review and approve site plans
- Inspect public occupancies
- Inspect industrial and commercial occupancies
- Regulate fire zones
- all calls regarding fire and safety matters
- Answer all fire alarms
- Regulate and approve smoke detector installations
- Investigate all fires within the township
- Control HAZMAT storage and handling
- Initiate industrial training where possible
- Inspect sprinkler installations
- Regulate fire drills in schools
- Enforce all Township adopted fire codes
Fire Prevention
The Fire Marshals office assists the Fire Department in conducting Fire Prevention Programs in schools and other requesting groups.
