Required Initial Qualifications:

• Officers, at the time of their appointment, must be at least 21 years of age.
• Applicants considered for employment must be of good moral character.
• Applicants must be physically and psychologically able to perform the duties of the position of a Horsham Police Officer, as per the job description.
• Officers, at the time of their appointment, must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Applicants must possess visual acuity acceptable for performing all functions and responsibilities of a police officer.
• Applicants must possess a diploma from an accredited high school or graduate equivalency diploma.
• Applicants must have graduated, or currently be attending a basic police academy (Act-120) with a graduation date before the current anticipated hire date.
• Applicants must be a United States citizen.
• Applicants may not have any disqualifying criminal offense as defined by MPOETC under Title 37 §203.1.

Employment as a probationary police officer will be considered only upon successful completion of the following phases:

• Physical Agility Test
• Resume Review
• Oral Interviews (total of 3 interviews)
• Personal History Questionnaire
• Polygraph Test
• Background Investigation
• Medical Examination & Drug Screening
