The mission of the Horsham Township Police Department is to provide professional law enforcement service to Horsham Township. To preserve, protect and enhance the quality of life for the people of Horsham through a broad range of police services. The officers and civilian staff that make up the Horsham Police Department are dedicated and committed to ensure Horsham Township is a safe place to raise a family, work, and enjoy life.
Horsham Township is located in the eastern section of Montgomery County and has a residential population of approximately 26,000. We have been proudly protecting and serving the citizens of Horsham Township since the department was established in 1951. The department is comprised of 41 sworn officers that are supported by a 7 member dispatch and clerical staff. In addition to our main duties of patrol and criminal investigation, we provide a wide range of community policing services to include: Citizens’ Police Academy, ChATs, National Night Out, Horsham Watch, daily school patrols, and our forensics class for students. In addition, each year we give out more than 5,000 candy bars at Halloween. We are here to provide the finest police services available to the community. The Horsham Township Police Department is a state-accredited law enforcement agency.

Chief of Police
Chief Scott Fida began his career with the Horsham Township Police Department in 2001. He was promoted to sergeant in 2013 and lieutenant in 2018 before his appointment to the rank of Deputy Chief in 2020. In November 2021, he was promoted to the rank of Chief of Police. Chief Fida earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice Administration from DeSales University and his Master of Science in Organizational Development and Leadership from Saint Joseph’s University. He is also a graduate of the 457th class of Northwestern University’s School of Police Staff and Command.
Chief Fida is presently a member of the following professional organizations: IACP, PA Chiefs of Police Association, Police Chiefs Association of Southeastern PA, Delaware Valley Association of Professional Police Officials, DeSales University Alumni Association, Saint Joseph’s University Alumni Association, and Northwestern University Center for Public Safety Alumni Association.
